20 Years After China's Entry Into WTO: A Review Of The Development Of China's Textile Foreign Trade Part3

Четврти период: период од 2020. године, период утицаја епидемије.

The novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic has swept the world since the end of 2019, which has a great impact on the export of textiles and clothing in the near future. After the accelerated spread of the epidemic abroad in the first quarter of 2020, many countries entered a state of emergency, businesses were suspended, customs were closed, export orders of textile enterprises were largely postponed and cancelled, rejection of abandoned goods occurred frequently, export pressure increased sharply, and the export of textiles and clothing decreased by 18 percent . After entering the second quarter, under the influence of the return of some overseas orders, the strong demand for international epidemic prevention materials and other factors, China's textile and garment exports reached US 306.66 billion in 2020, an increase of 9.25 percent .

Near the end of this year, the trend of steady growth of China's textile and garment exports in 2021 is becoming clearer. According to the customs express, the textile and garment exports in the first 11 months were US 285.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7.7 percent . At present, the global epidemic is still repeatedly disturbing the world economy. In the short term, China's textile foreign trade will achieve a stable trend, but in the long term, the impact of the epidemic will eventually end. The world economic landscape is being redrawn. We are facing "the great change that has not been seen in the world in a century". China's textile trade environment is facing great uncertainty.

——Sun Huaibin, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation

Since China's entry into WTO, the industrial structure of China's textile industry has been continuously optimized. The proportion of fiber consumption of clothing, home textile and industrial end products has been adjusted from 68:19:13 in 2000 to 40:27:33 in 2020. Accordingly, the proportion of textiles in China's textile and garment exports has also increased from 30.8 percent in 2000 to 52.8 percent in 2020.

Брзи развој индустријског текстила

The textile industry should constantly meet the people's increasing needs for material and cultural life, comply with the people's expectations for better employment, and create new advantages in the international division of labor. It not only promotes the rapid development of the garment industry and home textile industry, but also drives the rapid development of the productivity of industrial textiles, which has become a new growth point of the textile industry. China's textile industry produces products for industry, agriculture, civil engineering, water conservancy, building materials, various medical and health care, environmental engineering, energy engineering, transportation and aerospace engineering, information technology engineering, etc. in 2000, the amount of fiber used was 1.74 million tons, accounting for 12.8 percent of the total fiber processing volume. By 2020, it has increased to 19.1 million tons, accounting for about 33 percent of the total fiber processing volume.

In 2000, China's export of industrial textiles was very small. By 2019, the export was nearly 30 billion US dollars, accounting for more than 10 percent of the export of textiles and clothing. In 2020, novel coronavirus pneumonia affected the export of anti epidemic products. The export of industrial textiles showed explosive growth. The total export volume was 89 billion 600 million US dollars, which was nearly two times higher than that in 2019, and the export of light mask reached US 53 billion 780 million.
